Meditation is mind training. We go to the gym to exercise our bodies. We should do the same thing for our minds.

What is meditation?
It is simply a process for training your attention & focusing your awareness specifically and with purpose.
Much of the time our mind wanders. 47% of the time our minds are “wandering”; which means it, rather than us - it is leading the experience. (Killingsworth, 2010; Mindful Leadership Institute, 2010).

How much more meaningful could your life be if you directed your mind vs. being directed by mind?
I started my journey over 20+ years ago, which you need not haphazardly go try and put together yourself.
I invite you to try a method and process that I find has worked for me, which is proven in neuroscience, emotional intelligence with mindfulness as the baseline.
All of which culminated in my certification as a lead instructor in a program called Search Inside Yourself (SIY) www.siyli.org , which encapsulates all of these wonderful elements.
I invite you to experience mediation and deepen who you are as a human being.
How do we find meaning and purpose in our lives?
Meditation allows you to cultivate a space where you can find what is important to you. It allows you to understand how your mind works. It requires practice.
We all want instant gratification.
If that is what you are looking for, stop wasting your time.

Meditation is about training your focus and attention. That requires discipline. There are no short cuts. Proper expectations are crucial, but did you know that training your attention helps develop the part of your brain responsible for self-awareness?
Self-awareness is great, but without self-management, you are back at square one.
Meditation refers to a family of mental training practices that are designed to familiarize the practitioner with specific types of mental processes. -Brefczynski-Lewis, 2007
Explore different kinds of meditations from focusing your attention (the most basic), to mediations for witnessing your thoughts, to meditations of developing self-awareness, self management to meditations to work with triggering situations or people.
Meditation practice leads to improved well-being, satisfaction, focus, creativity and lower stress.
All are elements that allow us as human BEINGS to live more satisfying lives.
Who we are in terms of our sense of self keeps expanding.
We need to learn to put all of these things aside to see clearly.
For example, my house is mine, but it is not me. My car is mine, but it is not me. As we apply our sense of self to these "objects" we expand who we are; when that in fact is NOT who we are.
Mediation allows us a (mental) process to put aside all that we are not, until who we are actually appears.
It's a wonderful experience.
Self-reported feedback suggests great improvement in:
Happiness & Well Being
Meaning and Satisfaction
Ability to Focus
Mental Clarity, Creativity and Insights
and a decrease in:
Stress and Overwhelming Emotions
